DCSAA High School Athletics Hall of Fame
The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize individuals and teams that have demonstrated exceptional athletic success during their enrollment at, or service to, a District of Columbia public, public charter, or private school. The Hall of Fame also looks to honor individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to District secondary athletic programs and the overall District secondary athletic community.
2017 was the inaugural year for the DCSAA High School Athletics Hall of Fame and we are happy to be searching for members of our third class! Be sure to participate in our nomination process to honor the amazing contributions of our District athletes, coaches, and community members.
Criteria for selection:
| Nominee Category | Requirements for Recognition | Criteria for Selection |

| Individual Athletes | Must be a graduate of a DC high school; public, public charter, or private. | Outstanding athletic achievement during time as a student athlete at their respective high school. |
| Must have participated in varsity athletics at that school | Personal accomplishments since graduation. | |
| Must be graduated for a minimum of 15 years. | Contributions that each individual has made to the District’s athletic community during their time as an athlete or after graduation. | |
| Coaches | Must have been a coach of a DC high school; public, public charter, or private for at least five full calendar years. | Must have made outstanding contributions to District of Columbia athletics. |
| Must be retired as a head coach for at least 10 years or have served as a head coach for a minimum of 20 years. | Contributions made to the District’s athletic community during their time as a head coach or after the completion of his/her coaching tenure. | |
| Contributors and special recognition. | Must have contributed in some way to District of Columbia Athletics. | Contributions may be in the form of donations, support of athletic programs at individual or multiple district schools, support of multiple student athletes over a long period of time, or outstanding support with advocacy for District secondary sports. |
| Any person or group/organization | A special recognition award can be given by the Selection Committee to any person or group it feels is deserving of such an award. | |
| Teams | The team must have participated in varsity sports at a District high school; public, public charter, or private. | Team must have significant athletic accomplishments during time of competition. |
| There must be at least 10 years since the team has competed. | The team must have made significant contributions to the District’s secondary athletic community. |
